West Texas observed an impressive amount of snowfall from Sunday’s winter storm. Odessa/Midland saw between 3-4in of snow, while most of the northern Permian Basin saw between 4-8in of snow. The highest amounts were in a narrow area from Hobbs, NM east through extreme western Borden county. The lowest amounts were around less than an inch in the upper Trans Pecos.
The National Weather Service at the Midland International Air & Space Port, measured a record amount of daily snowfall for Sunday’s event. 3.2in fell which beat the old record of 1.6in set back in 1962.
