An upper level trough to our West combined with a stationary front at the surface will enhance the risk of thunderstorms today in the Permian Basin. The storms will mainly focus along and East of the dryline this afternoon and evening in the Central and Eastern Permian Basin.
A level 2 slight risk of severe thunderstorms are possible for the Northeast Permian Basin. Large hail and damaging winds will be the main risks from the storms.
The best chance of thunderstorms will be between 3pm-7pm.
