MIDLAND, Tx – Midland Lee had a statement season last year after going 11-2 and making it to the third round of the playoffs.
Head coach Clint Hartman said he thinks the team will be even better this year.
While the Rebels did lose some standout players on both offense and defense, such as Loic Fouonji and Karl Taylor, they still return quite a few assets on both sides of the ball. Quarterback Mikey Serrano is entering his third year starting games for the Rebels. Serrano led all quarterbacks in class 6A last year in total offense.
Hartman said he is also already impressed by several running backs on the team and the Rebels’ secondary. Midland Lee is working on replacing a large number on the defensive line.
Midland Lee will play its first game this Friday against Amarillo High. Watch the video above for the full preview.
