LAMESA, Tx – With a new district and new head coach, Lamesa’s football team and schedule will look quite a bit different this season.
Joseph Hood has taken over the program after being promoted this year. Hood said he is implementing quite a bit of change to the program, including a new offense and defense.
After going 0-10 last year, Hood said the team’s biggest focus right now is rebuilding confidence.
“Mentally, we’ve got to stay confident in ourselves,” he said.
Senior Josh Marquez agreed, saying “I think we just got down on ourselves too early last season and it set the tone for the rest of the season.”
Lamesa also dropped in realignment earlier this spring and will face new opponents this year. The Golden Tornadoes’ new district includes Brownfield, Denver City, Kermit, Shallowater and Slaton.
