MOJO Monday: Permian shows versatility in first two weeks of season

The Final Score

ODESSA, Tx – Permian took home a big win on the road against Mesquite Horn in week two of the season.

The Panthers won the game 51-10. The team is now 2-0 to start the year. Head coach Jeff Ellison said he was impressed by his team’s effort and quick start in Friday’s game. He also complimented the team’s offensive versatility this year.

“Harper Terry’s done a good job running our offense….and more so this year has the ability to throw the ball with the guys that we have on the edge,” Ellison said.

He said one thing the team needs to work on is limiting turnovers. He said the defense will often get big stops only for the ball to be turned over when the offense takes over.

Permian hits the road again this week to play former district opponent Amarillo Tascosa. The game will be played at Buffalo Stadium in Canyon. Kick-off is 7 p.m.
