MIDLAND, Tx – When Midland Lee quarterback Mikey Serrano was taken out of the Rebels’ game against Amarillo on Friday, star receiver Shemar Davis was more than ready to step up and help out his team.
While Davis is typically the one catching Serrano’s passes, he was the one throwing them toward the end of Lee’s win over Amarillo High. The senior said he typically gets some reps in at quarterback during the Rebels’ practices and some scrimmages.
Davis scored early on in the game and then played keeper for a score after taking over as quarterback.
