GREENWOOD, Tx – While the Greenwood offense boasts the ability to both throw and run the ball effectively, the Rangers made a living on the ground last Friday.
The Rangers secured their bi-district victory over Seminole 50-20. Senior Trey Cross contributed four touchdowns on 246 yards in the win.
The running back has plenty of postseason experience with the Rangers, but said he feels even more motivation this year since it’s his last year with Greenwood. Cross said he has also been encouraging the underclassmen to step up.
“Now that it’s my senior year and I know it’s my last year, I go harder on the underclassmen. I put more on them and tell them to play for the seniors because it’s our last and they have plenty more years. And they’ll get to the point where we’re at and they’ll know what it feels like,” he said.
