ODSSEA, Texas (Nexstar) – Streets around Odessa flooded Thursday after rainfall.
Areas by N. Dixie Blvd and Center Ave, Eisenhower Rd and E. University Blvd, and N. County Rd West, created several challenges for drivers.
Sidewalks became submerged, uprooted foliage ran down the waters along the streets, and intersections turned into small bodies of water. Drivers of compact and sub-compact cars faced difficulties, too, with several drivers seen pushing their cars along the road. Sloped roadways also created problems by causing an accumulation of water. Users on social media have commented about drainage in Odessa amid this rainfall. Rain fell in intervals, with the heaviest downfall around 5 P.M. and 6 P.M.
A Flood Advisory has been issued for Midland and Odessa, as well as many locations in the Central and Southern Basins. This Advisory indicates flooded roadways and hazardous travel conditions. Please drive with extreme caution, and avoid driving through flooded roads. Rainfall is expected to continue through the evening, contributing to even more flooding.
