Dallas’ Jackson Markham took home the championship in Sunday’s final round of the 2019 West Texas Amateur.
Markham shot 3-under-par to seal the deal Sunday afternoon.
Of the 144 golfers that teed off in the tournament on Friday, only 72 advanced to Sunday’s final. Several local standouts qualified and even finished toward the top of the leaderboard.
Former Permian golfer William Adams and Midland-native Neil Dufford tied for third. Casey Fowler (Odessa), Tripp Wallace (Odessa College), and Jaden Chavez (Permian) tied for ninth.

This year was the first time the Midland Country Club hosted the tournament. It was the 91st anniversary of the West Texas Amateur.
