UTPB sets one-word motto for the season: believe

Sports

Earlier this week, UTPB Head Coach Justin Carrigan said the team was working to pick one word for the team’s theme this upcoming season.

Many of the players announced on Saturday morning that that word will be “believe.”

“That’s the word…I guess I threw it out there. So believe. Believing that we’re going to win every game and believing that we’re going to get better every day and just that we’ll stay together and win as a team,” said senior Emilio Solis.

“You have to step on the field as a competitor and believe in yourself and believe that you prepared throughout the week to be successful in that game. Also with believe you have to believe the next man…you got to believe that your brother is going to do his assignment and do what he has to do. You have to believe in the coaching staff and that’s really what it is,” agreed junior La’Daidreain Glasker.

The Falcons hosted a scrimmage this morning for fans to come and enjoy. UTPB officially kicks off the season on Sept. 7 against Wayland Baptist.
