UTPB continues preparation for first game

Sports

UTPB’s first game is still nearly two weeks away, but the Falcons have an idea of what they need to work on after Saturday’s scrimmage.

The team played seven-on-seven and ran through some live drill in front of fans Saturday morning. Head Coach Justin Carrigan said one of the biggest takeaways from the scrimmage was the offense held its own against UTPB’s hyped-up defense.

Carrigan said now the team will focus on fixing up and executing the little things accurately. He said some of the younger guys are still learning some things and not moving quite fast enough yet.

UTPB will host Wayland Baptist for their first game of the season on Sept. 7.
