Two-A-Days: Big Spring Steers

The Big Spring football program was arguably one of the most improved teams in the Basin last season.

After two winless years, the Steers won a few games last year and made the playoffs.

The team will look to build on that success under new head coach Cannon McWilliams. The former defensive coordinator was promoted to head coach after Mitch McLemore left the program and took on an administrative position.

Of course, that means Big Spring had to hire a new defensive coordinator to replace McWilliams. The head coach said that new hire brings a few changes to the defense for the Steers.

McWilliams said their starting quarterback position is still up in the air, as well. He said a couple of sophomores are competing for the spot.

Though the team has a small number of juniors this season, the large group of seniors will provide guidance to the underclassmen this season.
