Former Kansas and Midland High track star Bryce Hoppel announced his decision to pursue a professional running career Tuesday afternoon.
Hoppel will forego his final year of collegiate eligibility at the University of Kansas with the decision.
Hoppel, who won the national championship in both the NCAA Outdoor and Indoor 800-meter run, recently qualified for the world championships this September.
Hoppel went his entire junior season going undefeated in the race.
