ODESSA, Texas (Nexstar) – The Permian Panthers are coming off a big win against Mesquite Horn on Friday night.
The Panthers walloped the Jaguars 51-10 in the Metroplex. Harper Terry lead the way for the team rushing and passing.
The Panthers offense was firing on all cylinders in the win, with ten ball carriers getting touches on the way to a 275 yard performance on the ground.
No player on the Panther offense broke the 100 yard mark though. Coach Ellison said the Permian offense is designed so a lot of players can get touches on any play.
Ellison also mentioned the speed the team has at the wide receiver position. Terran Limuel was unstoppable for the Panthers, coming down with two long touchdown receptions in the game.
This week, the Panthers face a familiar foe in the Amarillo Tascosa Rebels. The former district rival runs a similar offense to the Panthers.
Ellison says the Rebels are very disciplined and they will have to play assignment football on defense.
The Panthers take on the Rebels in Canyon Friday at 7 PM.
