Pair of Wink Wildcats sign letters of intent

Wink High School experienced one of the school’s most decorated athletic semesters in the fall of 2019. On Wednesday, two seniors who contributed to that success signed on to play at the college level.

Jordan Dewberry will play volleyball next season at Western Texas College in Snyder.

During her senior season, Dewberry helped lead the Lady Cats to the State Tournament for the first time since 2012. She was later named a first-team All-State selection by the Texas Sports Writers Association.

Coleton Ashabranner signed his letter of intent to continue his football career at Hardin-Simmons.

Like Dewberry, Ashabranner also led the Wildcats to a memorable postseason run. After starting the year 1-3, the Cats won 9 straight games, advancing to the 2A, Division II Region I Final (state quarterfinal).

After the season, Ashabranner was named an honorable mention All-State selection (defensive line) by the Texas Associated Press Sports Editors.
