Odessa High prepares for crosstown rivalry game

Sports

After an open week, Odessa High is gearing up for its first district game against crosstown rival Permian.

The Bronchos enter district play with a 2-3 record. Head coach Danny Servance said the team primarily worked on fundamentals and special teams during the open week, and he was pleased with the team’s progress.

Servance played at Permian in high school, so he understands the significance of the rivalry.

Like Odessa High, the Panthers are dealing with a younger team this season. Servance said he has seen improvement from MOJO this year.
