MOJO set to be tested by Arlington Martin

Sports

The Permian Panthers (7-4, 4-1) will try to extend its season once again Friday night.

MOJO will face Arlington Martin (10-1, 7-0) in the Area round of the Texas High School Football Playoffs.

Both teams have arguably been playing their best football in recent weeks.

While the Panthers have won 7 out of their last 8 games, including a wins over arch-rival Midland Lee and Bi-District opponent El Paso Franklin, the Warriors have won their last 8 contests – most recently, a 69-0 shutout over San Angelo Central.

In the most recent statewide poll from Dave Campbell’s Texas Football, Martin was ranked #10 in Class 6A.

Friday’s game is also a rematch from the 2017 postseason, when Martin defeated Permian 41-10 in the Area round.
