Midland High looks to complete assignment vs. Permian

MIDLAND, Texas – The Midland High Bulldogs (1-5, 1-2) are preparing to continue a critical stretch of the season.

For the second time this season, the Purple and Gold will make the short trip to Ratliff Stadium in Odessa – this time to battle the Permian Panthers (5-2, 3-1).

Last time out, the Dawgs slipped into an early deficit against District 2-6A leaders – San Angelo Central (4-3, 4-0).

In that contest, the Bobcats jumped out to a 20-0 lead early in the second quarter over the Bulldogs. After that, Midland High managed pull within one possession with 14 unanswered points.

MHS ended its game against against Central with over 350 yards of offense and 31 points scored – the most the team has scored in any game this season. The Bulldogs effort was not enough, however, as the Bobcats managed to leave the Tall City victorious, 54-31.

Friday’s game against Permian will be another chance for Midland High to pick up a second win in District 2-6A – which would greatly boost the Bulldogs playoff chances.

Midland High will also have a chance to end a three-game losing streak against MOJO. Kickoff from Ratliff Stadium is set for 7:00 PM.
