After spending three years with Midland High football, Jarryd Taylor has accepted a job as Ozona’s next head football coach/athletic director.
Taylor joined the Bulldogs as their linebackers coach, after spending the previous six seasons as Denver City’s defensive coordinator. There, he coached under his father – Steve Taylor.
Taylor’s new gig will be his first experience as a head football coach or athletic director. He’ll also have the unique experience of taking over at his alma mater.
Taylor graduated from Ozona, where he played high school football while his father was head coach. He then played collegiately at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene.
Other coaching stops along the way for Taylor include Brownfield and Coahoma.
