Midland Christian determined to rebound from heartbreaking defeat

Sports

MIDLAND, Texas – The Midland Christian Mustangs (1-2, 0-2) have consistently displayed valiant efforts this season. Unfortunately, however, those showings have not been reflected in the team’s overall record.

MCS ended last week in disappointment following a gut-wrenching defeat to the reigning state champions and the top-ranked team from TAPPS, Dallas Parish Episcopal.

The Mustangs led the Vikings 32-28 with nine seconds remaining, before Parish Episcopal connected on a 25-yard touchdown pass to take the lead and ultimately win the game, 34-32.

This week, Midland Christian will head to the Metroplex to take on one of the program’s biggest rivals – the Argyle Liberty Christian Warriors (0-3, 0-1). Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.

Liberty Christian boasts several high-caliber recruits on both sides of the ball. Senior quarterback Daniel Greek is committed to play collegiately for Mississippi State. Junior safety Cristian Driver, son of former NFL wide receiver Donald Driver, has attracted attention from a handful of Power 5 college programs as well.
