ODESSA, Tx (ABC Big 2/Fox 24) – The West Texas Warbirds are preparing for their first home game of the season-and ever for that matter.
The Warbirds are an indoor professional football team. The team started in the Basin last year, but was unable to compete because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, the team is ready to kick things off the in the Basin.
The team won its first game of the year on the road against Amarillo to start the year 1-0.
Head coach Tate Smith said he is excited to start this season and the players are ready for their first home game. This upcoming game will be a rematch against Amarillo Venom. The game is this Saturday at 7 p.m. at Ector County Coliseum.
