As 2019 comes to an end, we are taking a look at some of the top sports stories from around the Permian Basin this year.

Our No. 6 top story goes to the Midland Classical basketball teams. Both the boys and girls teams competed for state championships in 2019, with the boys losing by just three points, and the girls winning their third-straight state title.

The Midland Classical boys lost to Kerrville’s Our Lady of the Hills and the girls defeated Beaumont Legacy Christian.
