Rumbleweeds appreciate fan support during debut season

Local Sports

The West Texas Rumbleweeds have just a few regular season games left in their debut season in Odessa.

The Rumbleweeds moved to Odessa as part of the U.S. Arena Pro Soccer League earlier this year. With one final regular season home game, head coach Danny Lopez said he has been very impressed with the fan turnout this year.

Lopez said fans have come out and showed support all season, despite the wins or losses.

“The only road game that we’ve had is in Amarillo. I can say that we’ve had a bigger and better crowd for sure,” he said.

However, he said he would like to see Ector County Coliseum packed at some point.

The Rumbleweeds have two more regular season games before playoffs next month. West Texas will host FC Amarillo this Saturday at 6 p.m.
