PREVIEW: UTPB hits the road to take on Texas A&M- Kingsville

Local Sports

The UTPB Women’s Basketball Team (5-4, 2-1) will hit the road to take on Texas A&M- Kingsville (1-4, 0-3) Thursday afternoon.

It will be the Falcons’ first conference game on the road. Head Coach Rae Boothe said this game is a must-win to stay toward the top of the Lone Star Conference standings.

The Falcons struggled defensively in their most recent game against Cameron, and Boothe said keeping the team’s composure is key.

“Kingsville is very guard-heavy. They’re very athletic and they’re very quick. So we think it’s a good match-up, but then again, our composure’s going to be key. Because if we play at their speed, we’re going to be out of control,” she said.

The game marks the start of a four-game stint on the road for UTPB. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
