LUBBOCK, Tx (ABC Big 2/Fox 24) – For the third-straight season, the final stop before the College World Series will run through Lubbock.

After sweeping its Regional, No. 8 Texas Tech will host No. 9 Stanford at Rip Griffin Park starting Friday at 2 p.m. It will be a best of three series, with Game Two scheduled at 2 p.m. Saturday and a Game Three scheduled for Sunday if necessary.

Texas Tech started postseason play with a 6-3 win over Army before moving onto a 7-2 win over North Carolina. The Red Raiders won the Lubbock Regional for the third-straight season with a 8-2 win over No. 21 UCLA in the finals.

Stanford beat UC Irvine in a deciding game 7 Monday night to win the Stanford Regional. It’s the first time the Cardinals will play in Lubbock.

The winner of the series will earn a bid to Omaha for the College World Series.
