NAHL announces 2020-21 season extension

Local Sports

ODESSA, Tx – The North American Hockey League announced the extension of its 2020-21 season Wednesday afternoon.

The regular season will now end May 16. It was originally scheduled to end at the end of April. League officials said there are several reasons the league decided to extend the season:

  1. The longer season gives players more opportunity to be scouted and recruited.
  2. It gives the teams more time to practice and play- something that was shortened with the postponed season.
  3. It gives fans more opportunity to see the teams and support the local organizations.
