Midland College’s Tofaeono commits to Texas A&M

Midland College junior Ella Tofaeono announced this week she will continue her basketball career at Texas A&M.

Tofaeono said she created a list for her next jump during her freshman year at Midland College. She said there were no cons about the Aggies on her list.

“I knew pretty early on that I wanted to be an Aggie because I’ve heard so many great things about the culture. And it being in a Power Five and the SEC and them having a Hall of Fame coach and his coaching staff has been with him so long,” the junior said.

Tofaeono sat out one season during her time with Midland College, but put in solid work the other two seasons. She earned All-American third team honors last year and has made the All-Conference team during her career with the Chaps. The junior averaged 14.6 points per game and took down 10.6 rebounds.

Tofaeono said Midland College has helped prepare her for her next school both mentally and physically. She also said Coach Gatliff has been a tremendous mentor and support throughout her recruiting period.

Tofaeono will still have two seasons of eligibility with the Aggies.
