ODESSA, Tx (ABC Big 2/Fox 24) – The Lone Star Conference announced Monday morning that it will not sponsor the 2021 spring football season.

The announcement comes after both Eastern New Mexico and Western New Mexico opted out of the season. All conference football seasons were moved from fall to spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic last year.

UTPB will still play the non-conference games already on the schedule and the team is looking to add more this spring. The Falcons are currently set to open the season against Southern Nazarene on Feb. 20 and have another non-conference game against Lincoln University on March 6.
