While most gyms are slowly reopening, many have been forced to get creative or step outside their comfort zones to get exercise and work out.
With quarantine, many people have found themselves with more time than usual on their hands. Big Spring’s Megan Wilson is no exception.
When quarantine started, Wilson found she had some extra time to do a hobby she enjoyed: running. The Big Spring-native is a cheerleading coach at the school and also teaches tumbling classes at a gym, and said she did not have much time to run normally.
And Wilson pursued her hobby with a goal in mind: run 100 miles in the month of May. While Wilson said she does normally run quite a bit, 100 miles is the most she’s run in a month.
“Last month I was running some just because I hadn’t had much to do, and I woke up and thought ‘well if I can do that, why not do 100?” she said.
Wilson finished the final miles of her goal Saturday morning and plans to make some new goals for the rest of the summer. She mentioned running 400 miles in the next two months.
