CRANE, TX (Big 2/Fox 24) -The Golden Cranes started their summer strength and conditioning programs this week, with a few changes in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic.
While the UIL has allowed programs to increase group sizes and student to staff ratios, programs still have to follow several regulations during practice. Crane is doing its part to limit the spread of the virus and practice safetly.
Student-athletes enter through different entrances and get their temperatures taken upon arrival. The Golden Cranes have brought their weightlifting equipment on the field to promote social distancing. Equipment is also disinfected between uses and hand sanitizing stations are set up.
Crane coach Jessica Bartlett said 128 students attended the workouts on Monday, and Crane had nearly the same amount practice on Tuesday. She said the students are excited to get back to work.
