Big Spring athletics raises money for local teen diagnosed with cancer

Local Sports

BIG SPRING, Tx (ABC Big 2/Fox 24) – Big Spring ISD athletics is hosting several events this week to raise money for Forsan-native Hailey Williams.

The 14-year-old was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma last week and will begin chemotherapy May 10. According to the family’s GoFundMe, Williams will have to travel to Dallas every other week for the next nine months for treatment. Some of the money raised will help the family with those travels.

Big Spring will host a seven-on-seven Tuesday at Memorial Stadium and a seven-on-seven tournament May 15. Big Spring coaches Cannon McWilliams and Eric Tuttle will be collecting donations at the events.

If you’re not able to donate in person, funds are also accepted on Williams GoFundMe. We will continue to update this story as more details become available.
