Lee looks to punch ticket to ‘Sweet 16’

MIDLAND, Texas – The Midland Lee Rebels will compete for an Area Championship on Saturday night.

The Rebs, co-champions of District 2-6A, will match up with the District 3-6A Champs: Euless Trinity.

The Trojans will present plenty of challenges for the Rebels. Among them: size, physicality, and a suffocating defense.

Euless Trinity has not allowed more than 30 points in a single game this season. Meanwhile, Midland Lee has only failed to score at least 30 points once – a 26-7 win over Belton on homecoming.

Saturday’s game also gives Midland Lee a chance for revenge over Euless Trinity. In 2017, the Trojans defeated the Rebels in the second round of the playoffs, 34-23.

The game will be played at Globe Life Park in Arlington (the former home of the Texas Rangers). Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
