Greenwood looks to avenge postseason loss in Region I Final

Sports

Last postseason, the Greenwood fell to the Iowa Park, 35-14, in the Region I Semifinals.

Since then, the Rangers have not lost a game.

While more than a year has past since that defeat, it remains a fresh memory for the Rangers – one they’ll try to change on Friday night.

Going into the half tied at 14, Iowa Park shut out Greenwood in the second half – an area senior wide receiver Brody Ray says the team will need to improve.

The Rangers come into the rematch still undefeated after picking arguably their most impressive win of the season – a 41-14 victory over previously-undefeated Lubbock Estacado.

Opposite of last year’s Regional Semifinal, the Rangers shut out their opponent in the second half after a tightly-contested first half.

Friday night’s rematch of Greenwood/Iowa Park will be played at Abilene Christian’s Wildcat Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
