The Dallas Cowboys needed two things to happen Sunday to clinch a playoff spot: they needed to beat the Redskins and they needed the Eagles to lose to the Giants.
While the Cowboys (8-8) did secure a 47-16 win over Washington, the Eagles (9-7) had no problem taking down the Giants either.
Dallas could have clinched the NFC East title with a win over the Eagles last week.
Dak Prescott was 23 of 33 passing today with 303 yards and four touchdowns in today’s win over the Redskins.
Running back Ezekiel Elliot was on the receiving end of one of those touchdowns and rushed for 122 yards on 18 carries.
The Cowboys finish the season at an even 8-8 record and in second place in the NFC East.
