Bryce Hoppel places fourth in World Championship


Midland High alum Bryce Hoppel capped off his season by placing fourth in the men’s 800-meter run in the World Championship Tuesday afternoon.

Hoppel ran his fastest time ever in the race- 1:44.25.

The race was won by fellow-USA teammate Donavan Brazier, who set a new American and World Championship record with a time of 1:42.34.

Hoppel made his debut in his professional career in August in the Pan American Games. The World Championships was his second meet. Prior to going pro, Hoppel ran track at the University of Kansas.
