Two players out of Forsan were named co-Athletes of the Week last week for their performances in Week 5 of the high school football season.
Forsan quarterback Major Stockton and tailback Chris Mendez led the Buffaloes to a big victory over Reagan County on Sept. 27. The two combined for all five of Forsan’s touchdowns.
Stockton and Mendez also combined for 329 of Forsan’s 374 rushing yards. Both of the players are just sophomores, but they say their age doesn’t matter.
“I think it’s the same as any other grade. I mean, we’re here to play. It doesn’t matter our age or anything like that,” Stockton said.
Mendez said last year’s one-win season has motivated to improve this year and step up for their team.
Forsan lost to Wink last Friday, making the Buffs 3-3 so far this season.
