An Ector County ISD second-grader at Milam Elementary has been diagnosed with whooping cough, according to a release from the district.
ECISD says the illness was laboratory confirmed by the child’s doctor.
The school notified parents Monday night.
The district wants to recommend all parents to have their children tested if they are see any signs or symptoms which include: low grade fever, runny nose and a cough that gets worse over time.
Whooping cough can be highly contagious.
