A fugitive from West Virginia has been found and arrested in Stanton, according to information from the U.S. Marshals Service.
On Friday officials in West Virginia issued a warrant for Penny Stroud accusing her of kidnapping, according to the release.
Detectives in West Virginia said that Stroud took her granddaughter without the permission of the girls mother.
The West Virginia U.S. Marshals service later contacted the Midland Marshals Service who located and arrest Stroud around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night, according to officials with the Midland County Jail.
The child was located and will remain in child services custody until she can be reunited with her mother.
Stroud has been charged with fugitive from justice and will be extradited back to West Virginia, according to the release.
