HAZARD…Tornado. SOURCE…Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT…Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. A Wind Advisory means that winds of 30 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

While most of the following safety and prepardness tips may seem like common sense, they can be vital in cases of severe weather. He are some tips to keep you safe and some items to have on hand in case of severe weather: 

Safety tips:

  • Avoid driving
  • Park under cover
  • Unplug appliances and other electrical items.
  • Bring pets indoors
  • Secure lawn items
  • Stay in inner most room of home tonight.
  • Seek extra shelter if you are staying in a man camp or mobile home.

Be prepared:

  • Invest in a weather radio
  • Have water, food, flashlights, first aid kits, cell phone chargers, extra batteries etc.
  • Keep supplies in your car incase you are stranded.
  • Have a plan. Make sure you and your family know what to do and where to go during a severe storm.
