UPDATE: Elderly Man Dies At MCH On Saturday Morning, After Major Friday Evening Crash

UPDATE:

Corporal Steve LeSueur says 82-year-old Lucio Lara passed away at MCH on Saturday morning. 

Odessa Police confirm one elderly woman is dead following a major crash on 2nd and Harless Friday night.

The crash happened around 6:41 p.m.

Corporal Steve Lesueur with OPD says the crash involved a Chevy Malibu and a Ford F-250.

According to a report, the Ford was traveling westbound on 2nd street when the Malibu failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign on the 200 block of North Harless, leading to the collusion. 

The driver of the Malibu, 82-year-old Catarina Lara, was killed in the crash and the front passenger, 82-year-old Lucio Lara, was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

We’re told the driver of the Ford, 45-year-old Mark Gonzales, was not injured.

Next of kin have been notified. 

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
