New development in a case of indecency with a child and continuous sexual assault of a child.
Martha Mulkey, who had nine difference charges filed against her was in court Thursday for a pre-trial hearing. The hearing was postponed 60 days because more victims came forward.
These new victims brought 17 additional charges against Martha, bringing the total to 26.
New court documents reveal back in 2005, Martha and her then-boyfriend Robert Llanez would sexually assault Llanez’s nieces. Ages 11 and 10.
From 2005 to 2009, Martha and Llanez made the young children perform sex acts on numerous occasions.
“Michael and Martha were both charged back in the spring so since we charged them additional victims came forward and further investigation revealed that there was much more to it. So based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation OPD detectives obtained 17 more warrants for Martha Mulkey and 14 for Robert LLanez,” said CPL. Steve LeSueur, Public Information Officer, OPD.
In the spring, a Grand Jury indicted Martha and Michael Mulkey on aggravated sexual assault of a child, continuous sexual assault, aggravated sexual assault of a child in concert with another and many more.
A complaint against the Mulkey’s was made in March by the mother of a 10-year-old girl who began visiting the Mulkey’s home for counseling following the death of her father and grandfather.
Between June 2015 to December 2017, the Mulkey’s made the young girl perform sex acts on a weekly basis during the two year span.
Martha is currently being held on a 3.75 million dollar bond.
Llanez is being held on a 1.4 million dollar bond.
Michael is being held with a 1.85 million dollar bond.
Before the new charges were added, Big 2/Fox 24 was told, if Michael and Martha were convicted they could face five to 99 years in prison for aggravated sexual assault charges and 25 to life for the remaining charges.
