Two injured, woman arrested in shooting

Two were injured in a shooting overnight in Ector County.

Officials with the Ector County Sheriff’s Office say deputies were called to the shooting around 9:10 p.m. Friday night in the area of Tomahawk and Mexia.

At the scene, they located a man and a woman who had been shot. Both were taken to the hospital for treatment, according to the release.

While investigating, deputies were given information that led to the suspect in the shooting, officials say. The suspect’s vehicle was later located and a chase ensued.

ECSO officials say the chase ended at 3rd Street and Knox and the suspect, Bernadette Hernandez, was taken into custody and charged with two counts of aggravated assault.

The conditions of the victims are currently unknown.
