REEVES COUNTY, Texas (Nexstar)- Two people from California were killed in a fatal crash near Toyah Thursday.
Texas Department of Public Safety troopers were called around 4:15 p.m. April 22 regarding a crash in Interstate 20, four miles west of Toyah.
Troopers say a 2005 Jeep Cherokee was heading east on I-20 when the vehicle had a blowout. The driver lost control of the vehicle, overcorrected, and rolled, according to a release.
Maria Chavarria, 76, and MaDelCarmen Morales, 55, both of San Diego died in the crash.
The driver, Jose M. Fierro-Fajardo, 27, and two additional passengers, Eric Castro-Barajas, 27 and Jose Gamino, 57, also of San Diego were taken to the hospital with injuries.
