Two men have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred last week.

Odessa Police say they have arrested Michael Tarin Silvas and Johnny Ray Aguirre in the investigation.

Silvas was arrested by the OPD and the U.S. Marshal’s Service early Saturday morning in Crane while Aguirre was already in custody at the Ector County Jail on unrelated charges.

Both men have been charged with capital murder.

As you may recall, the investigation began around 12:45 a.m. Feb. 1, when officers were called to the 2200 block of Richmond about a gunshot victim.

At the scene, officers reportedly found Ryan Stebbins with a gunshot wound. Stebbins was transported to the hospital and later pronounced dead, according to prior reports.

During the investigation, police say Stebbins was confronting a suspect who was taking his work vehicle just before the shooting occurred.

The vehicle was later found abandoned in the 4300 block of Westcliff.
