Texas Tech Track and Field wins National Championship


The Texas Tech Men’s Track and Field team secured its first national title after winning the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field meet Friday night.

The Red Raiders had dazzling performances across the board, and scored 60 total points to secure the championship.

Divine Oduduru was a gem for the team. Oduduru won two sprints, breaking the meet’s 200m with a time of 19.73.

Senior Duke Kicinski also added an individual title, winning the discus. Sophomore Normal Grimes piled on some more points with his second place finish in the 400m hurdles.

The Red Raiders tacked on a few points from relays as well, taking third place in the 4×1.
