Two teens face charges and a 14-year-old boy recovers in the hospital following a shooting Sunday in Odessa, according to police.

The charges stem from a shooting around 6 p.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of Summer Avenue.

Authorities believe Keehwon Scott, 17, opened fire, striking the 14-year-old victim. Scott and a 15-year-old suspect ran off before police arrived. Reports show that Scott turned himself in and the 15-year-old suspect was later found.

Detectives say Scott, 17 was the shooter. He was booked on aggravated assault charges. The 15-year-old boy was booked on a stolen gun charge, authorities say. Odessa police say the 15-year-old suspect had two guns on him; one of them was stolen and the other had its serial number removed, according to police.

Scott was taken to the Ector county jail. The 15-year-old suspect was taken to the Ector County Youth Center.

The 14-year-old victim was taken to Medical Center Hospital with a serious injury.

An investigation continues.
