The woman and the victim believed to be involved in a shooting overnight have been identified.

Ector County Sheriff’s Office have identified the suspect as Courtney Rice.

Officials say they were called to the shooting around 2 a.m. Tuesday morning in the 2100 block of Stoner Road.

At the scene, deputies located Jose Hernandez who had a gunshot wound, according to the release.

Hernandez was transported to Medical Center Hospital and was later pronounce dead by medical personnel, officials say.

Deputies later charged Rice with murder.

She is currently being held at the Ector County jail and no bond has been set, jail records show.
