Severe Weather 5/9/17

Potential severe weather is on the way for Southeast New Mexico and the Northern Permian Basin this evening, according to the National Weather Service. 

The storms are expected to develop in New Mexico around 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon and “may quickly become severe as they move northeast,” a briefing from the NWS reads. 

Storms could continue throughout the evening and into Wednesday morning. 

The NWS says hail damage is possible along with wind damage. A tornado watch as also been issued through 11 p.m. for the following counties Eddy and Lea, Andrews, Gaines, Loving, Reeves, Winkler, Ward, Culberson.
