Salvation Army in need of volunteers for Red Kettle Campaign

ODESSA, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – The holidays are right around the corner and the Salvation Army needs your help to spread holiday cheer.

The organization is in need of volunteers to sign up to ring the bell at the red kettle. Volunteers can sign from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Saturday for 2-hour shifts or make a day out of it.

Captain Juan Gomez says the Salvation Army has been preparing for their annual Red Kettle Campaign for months and it’s one of the organization’s main fundraisers.

“This Red Kettle Campaign is pivotal to what the Salvation Army will do in this community. Rescuing Christmas goes a lot further than just focusing on our children this year. It goes to focus on our shelter guests and the men, women, and children who come to our soup kitchen,” he said.

Because of COVID-19 the Salvation Army will be providing their volunteers with PPE and branded face masks.

To sign up to volunteer go to and select a date and time slot you are available to volunteer.
