ODESSA, Texas (Big 2/ Fox24) – The Safe-2-Save mobile app created by local Midland native Marci Corry to promote safe driving habits has partnered with both the Permian Road Safety Coalition and Shell for the arrive alive safe driving competition.
“At Shell, we’re really excited to be apart of this the future of the Basin the future of our state and country really depends on the younger generation and it’s important to have them a part of the initiative to improve their driving behaviors,” Kevin McMahon, General Manager of Operations said.
The three-month-long competition will begin Jan. 29 – March 29, 2021, to see which high school has the least distracted drivers.
“The reason why this is so essential here in this area is that we all need to take responsibility for not teaching and driving,” Corry said.
Teaching and driving refer to all mobile apps such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and not just texting that can be a distraction while driving.
